Almost ready to pick! I'll give it "one more day"....lol...this is the first one for the tree, so we will see what's inside. Luckily we have had some rain lately and overcast skies...humidity is decent, the weather a bit cooler and the figs that are ripening are a bit better. we have more rain possible this weekend, so the good weather is keeping up! In most parts of the country, rain is your enemy with fig ripening. Apparently the opposite is true for Phoenix. This fig looks plump and nice so far. It feels soft even at the stem, but I'll give it one more day just to be sure. I'll let you see what's inside tomorrow Hopefully it won't disappoint, but it is the first fig.

I wouldn't be able to wait either! lol I can't practice what I preach at the beginning of the season. I pick them all too soon unless I missed them hidden in the leaves.

There have been many times that I said "I'll pick it tomorrow" and then forgot and find it 2 or 3 days later past prime. I won't be forgetting about this one!

I am just messing with you. I have lost too many to birds when I waited too long. Don't let that happen!!

Super! I can't wait to see this one, what a cliffhanger. Love the colors in the closeup, it's a great looking fig.

MJA829 the yellow color and green stem make it look a bit under ripe. I will be waiting...but checking daily. I have it in a fairly protected location...and my cats have been given instruction to keep an eye on it .and not to take a nap in THAT pot!

I'd say it needs at least another week. I do like the looks of the fruit but looks don't have much flavor. I hope it's good..!!

the tree is a second year tree....small...as these are it's first fruits, it may not taste as good as it looks today....the fruit may also get uglier by the time it's really ripe. All those colors are pretty spectacular right now.
