To those of you who have had this variety for some time, how long does it take to ripen figs in comparison to other varieties? Is this a variety that I am going to need to get an early start with or will it be fine starting with all the others?

My MF is just coming out of dormancy and starting its second year. I just moved it up into a larger pot and am hoping for first fruit this year. It was one of the more difficult cuttings to root. I thought mine dead ... but much later from beneath the soil a sprout emerged and grew.SoCal, zone 10.

Rooted a cutting last year, grew fast, planted in ground and made figs in the fall. Died down to the ground this winter. Sigh.

Alright, sort of a mixed bag of answers. I just took my Battaglia and Black Madeira out of the garage today and put them in the sun room to give a jump start. I'll probably add that MF tomorrow.Calvin, Wish list is to finish working on the new house, someday.
