  • Black Manzanita Breba

It's been many years since I've tasted brebas from this variety. The mother tree has been so punished by figgers and the highway agency over the years that I rarely saw brebas on it, and my trees weren't old enough. This year they have produced a few. Flavor is very figgy, texture jammy, sticky and gummy. Looking forward to the main crop.

This fig was exactly 60 grams.

The best time to plant a fig tree was 80 years ago. The second best time was 50 years ago. Oh well.
