  • 505-H Main Crop!

Was really looking forward to this one and it did not disappoint. I was surprised when it put out fruit for me this seasons, its first season fruiting in a 5G pot and only imagine the potential this has as the season progresses and as the tree hopefully matures over the years. Pretty small at around 28g, but super dense like a CDD, mild sweetness and strong strawberry flavor. Fig Gazer You have a winner with this one for sure!

Let me know later in the season if you don't end up with one, I'll try and get a cutting or air layer for ya if the tree puts on more growth.

Happy you like 505-H SO MUCH MORE TO COME ! IT does make a few breba i wonder if that was one ! I have a lot of it growing (my favorite find ! ) and there more than a month to go and Eric d. is 2-3 weeks ahead of me . I HAVE HER in ground ,grafted to big root stock and 15 potted plants . THIS JAN CAN PROVIDE CLEAN CUTTINGS ,OTHER WISE NOT MOVING POTTED PLANTS (FIG) . 505-H produces more mule figs than any tree out there as it ages ,the mother tree produces over 80% MULES SOME YEARS ,She is over 100 years old ,she is common ,the wasp can send her to the moon . THIS is not hype ,i give away most of them even gave HARVY C. SOME SO HE COULD SPREAD IT AROUND IF HE WANTED TO . THE POINT I AM TRYING TO MAKE IS IAM ONLY INTERESTED IN FIG FAME AND GLORY NOT MONEY . REALY "FIG FAME AND GLORY" ?? yea my priorites might be screwed up ? LOL .
Zone 10a So. Calif. W.L. Super tasty new finds !

Fig Gazer and Evdurtschi - my experience rooting this was not great. Never great when I lose all cuttings. It was hard to get them to root and even harder to get any green growth. Is everyone's experience the same ?

swethakyadav : hi , first look up a old post on our figs ,fico fetifero or fico dell osso , it has some pictures of mule figs ,basicly looks like to figs fused together .505-H is realitivly hard to root depending on how vigorus the wood was growing on the mother tree ,so old that some parts grow very slowly ,i have gotten better at selecting more vigorus wood the more i take cuttings from her ,have not taken second generation cuttings from my trees to see how they root ? if you remind me in jan will send you clean fresh cuttings (dormant)

I had the same experience. Tried rooting two cuttings I took from my tree this winter when I heavily pruned it and both failed for me.
