BM "and" MB...

I have a BM, late to ripen I know.....I am thinking of adding an MB.

Aren't they very similar?
Would it be worth it to have both?
I have read that MB ripens sooner...but no experience with it.

Also have RDB, CDDB, VDB.....sort of similar...

If you mean MIB aka Madeira island black, I’m of the opinion that all of these black Madeira synonyms are all Violeta from Portugal. I wouldn’t bother getting it, you could just take cutting or air layers from your own black Madeira tree

There’s Marseilles Black (MBvs) and Malta Black, both Etna types I believe. There’s also a Maltese Beauty, which I am personally trying to add. 👍🏼

So MBVS is an Etna type, Black Madeira way later and different. I do think MIB (Madeira Island Black) is distinct from BM, BMKk. Then there is Maltese Beauty which is different as well😃

Some BM are similar to MB, but then some MB are completely different to BM, you know?

FYI MBVS and Malta Black are both much earlier than Black Madeira; I have one of all three, and the former two are loaded while the last is still sitting at double bumps. I’ve tried Malta Black from a mature tree and it was delicious, I recommend it.
