  • Error in shipment maybe?

All this talk about nutrient poor trees and what will help, I decided try Gypsum as recommended by Pete.

No one had any in stock so I find it on line.

It finally got delivered today and this is what it looks like.

    I can't even believe a screw up like this....sheesh

i know that is the coarse version of the gypsum. you need to grind it up. sorry about my humor. how do someone make such mistake, a recycling bin vs. gypsum. anyway, can you return it?

Your mind must have been on your next thread here when you mistook that for Gypsum. Did you open the lid and see if there is any in there? Maybe you ended up with a lifetime supply.

I've read you can recycle old sheetrock into your garden. Sheetrock contains gypsum. I haven't tried it myself.

Did they charge you the right amount? Or did they actually charge you what the can cost? Those things can be salty.

Wow! If you were an organic grower you could not use this, I can't believe they are trying to profit from something they are supposed to recycle properly. They are a large corporation and should have better knowledge and practices than this. I hope they make it right, and they need to pick that up!

Lol! Doesn't look like a calcium source, nope.

If you're looking for a local gypsum source you can try to find a home brew supply store - that's where I got mine, 5 lb bag for pretty cheap. It's a common water additive in beer brewing

So today fedex just delivered the correct order, though the recycle bin is still here, since I told them I am not using my resources to deliver it back to them.
They told me they do not have the means at this time to pick it up. LOL

Have fedex come get it right?....I told them I will lock it up in my shed until they figure it out.
Should I charge them storage fees?

Having said that......I have not used Gypsum so I'm not really sure how much I should give each tree.
    Any recommendations? eh hem....Pete? ...lol

    Thank you in advance.

Now you're ready to apply! Love that OMRI label! When we use this on avocado trees we put A LOT on each tree, like 10-15 pounds no kidding, but they are a lot bigger so I hope someone will chime in for figs. Depends on their canopy, as that reflects the roots. Ah, I see your potted figs in the background, you could sprinkle a handful around the soil on each fig, and water in, for avocado we rake it carefully into the mulch being careful not to damage the feeder roots of the tree, but Pete will know better.

It amazes me how these mistakes can be make sometimes.
Makes me wonder if someone ordered a recycle bin and got a bad of gypsum instead...and probably got to keep it. LOL
