  • Fig of the day..... #2

    Bianca L1

    I'd long written off every tree from this source as a "conflict-fig". Many figs from the same source were the cause of some disappointment and unwelcome drama.... (something I don't want to get into here) I gave up on all of them, but this one...

    I admit, I didn't take good care of this one but despite that, here it is.... Not as advertised but wow... what a great, deep honey fig. Heavy tones of cantaloupe and caramel very sweet.

    Great fig. A real treat in July this far north.

        @ZomVee: in my place, Gentille Giallo Piato dropped all the fruits a month ago, it is a year old tree :/ Hope it could hold the fruits and get ripe next time.

        @ZomVee:
        Tom, no, I got this one directly from F.Lorusso last year.

      SoCalFigs - This originated as part of the infamous Francesco Lorusso collection. If you recall Oro Rosatto, Oro Bianco etc. Enough said.

            If we keep printing dollars by the trillions here in the states, pretty soon that moose head will actually be worth a quarter

            NO! Not Oro Bianca. This is "Bianca L1"

            At least it came labeled as Bianca L1 and it looks as it's supposed to... which is more than I can say for many of the same series of figs.
