incredible!!! My tree is 7ft tall almost 2 inch trunk with 5 thick branches. 4 years and not one fig. Its nets to other plants that have figs so its not the environement. Thankyou for responding.

        Where did you get yours?

One trick I’ve read was to tie some tight labels, landscape tape, etc around branches and it might induce fruit. Also could downsize pot and hope being more rootbound will induce. Good luck!

Mine and many of my fig plants are fairly root bound.(Im dreading the work Ill have to do next spring!) I dont want to reveal where I bought my Planera as it might have been an honest mistake. Thats why i want to hear it from the community which ones work out and from whom. Maybe mine will be ok and just takes time. So weird. I had 2 St Martin cuttings root this spring and both made a fig or two.

I have one from Ross with figs at most nodes. I think about 3 years in a 5 gallon. It set a fig the first year in a 1 gallon.

I wouldn’t necessarily rule out environment even next to other trees…

I can’t remember who I got mine from but it’s in its second year and I’ve got about 12 on it. It got a little head start, but minimal. Hopefully they hold.

There has to be many others that have Planera. I know French Fig farm carries it as well as Harvey, WillsC and Kremp.

One year old tree that is 3.5 to 4 ft tall. First year to fruit. It isn't loaded but I'd say it has a 30 - 40 figs. I got it from rayrose last September. Click image for larger version

I bought two cuttings from Kremp and they both rooted. One is in an eight gallon pot and growing nicely. The other is still hanging out in a one gallon as I've been uncertain about keeping it... I decided today to go ahead and up pot it as I've already pulled three trees off the irrigation system and moved them across the driveway, and a fourth will likely join them this week.

I wish there were more first-hand reports from growers of Planera in similar climates.

Hmmm, I could have traded for that one Gina since one person here posted figs on his first year in a one gal sized pot from Kremp. Ok, keep us posted on their progress. We dont hear much about Planera.

It felt like the first one on mine could be starting to swell so I put a bag on it. It’ll be my first main crop this year if I’m right.

I bought mine as an airlayer from Wills in 2019. It was delivered very late in the year and was extremely small. It was similar in size to my rooted cuttings that I started in 2020.
I planted it in ground this spring and it is focusing on getting its roots dug in right now.
I think this one is a great candidate for in ground for me.
                      No figs yet for me!
