  • SOS fig transplant rescue CPR needed

Hi Figfriends!! I m gonna need some ER/CPR/rescue instructions for some cuttings. I lost 70 % of my cuttings this year. First time. The thin cuttings didnt take. The 2 on the picture took 6 months to root. After doing well after transplant, I watered because of the hot weather and they look like they re dying. I stopped watering. Should I take them out and soak them in fish solution or the super thrive solution and repot them with potting mix?
please help it s much appreciated 🤣🤣

        What Doc said, it’s dead.
        Sorry man.
You could always put them in a shady spot and forget about it. Miracles can happen

What kind of soil r u using? Looks dry old and possibly hydrophobic which probably means your watering didn't do anything...?

Man, that’s such a bummer! I hate it when they do that. I don’t know of anything to be done to save it. You could try gently taking it out and checking for rot. If it’s only the bottom & can be cut off, maybe it can be repotted & resurrected? But, I wouldn’t hold my breath. Sorry for the losses, it stinks!

Doesn't look quite dead yet. I've had worse looking ones than that where the roots are still alive. I'd keep it in a shady place and make sure the soil is moist. That soil looks very dry. I didn't see any difference with superthrive on weak plants.

I agree with Wunga. Not dead. Not shriveled and plenty of pith still in them. Have a look to see if there is any rot and if there is, trim it off and start over. The potting mix does look dry. I use Perlite as a thick bottom layer with cuttings and water from the bottom just enough that the water touches the holes of the container. It wicks up the Perlite just enough that new roots can find it without sitting in mud. I put the bottom of the cutting just above the Perlite layer. Clear containers help you see when there are roots and how damp your mix is. There is no point fertilizing before the cutting has a good root system and it can contribute to rot.
