  • My First Fig in Alaska

I'm pretty excited that my Desert King was able to ripen a fig here. This is my first fig ever and I really hope next year will bring more.

Nice! Your temps this week are like my winter temps. You are getting 16 hours of sun and I’m getting 14 hours right now.

It had a nice sweet berry/peach flavor to it. I really enjoyed it.

What hurts is you have a better zone in Alaska than I do in Connecticut.

              Nice fig.

There is only about a week or two where we get lower than 10 degrees and I've only seen it dip below 5 once in 10 years. For the most part our winters tend to stay around the 30's.

Thanks, it definitely was sweet and juicy! It’s a Kesar mango a member of the tropical fruit forum sent me! I bought a box of random in season varieties and was so in love with them that as soon as I finished the first box I ordered another lol.
