Could any of you confirm this is a Black Madeira? I’m searching online some have this leaf pattern as some have spaded leaf pattern. Could anyone show me your leaf pattern. Got this cutting from eBay last year, at one point last season it was growing spaded leafs but this year I haven’t seen any.

Here’s the thing about leaf pattern: it can be affected by climate and vigor. My BM types typically exhibit 5 lobed leaves like yours or 3 lobed leaves. My trees are also quite vigorous because of my good fertilizer and almost perfect climate. I-258 is another example. My tree last year had mainly 5 lobed leaves, while a Canadian member had a tree with almost entirely fat tri-lobed leaves . Both trees have been fruited. I can probably take some pictures for you later
that being said, you won’t truly know until you have ripe fruits and a mature tree

Hope it is and you didn’t waist the time, the money people pay for cuttings is bad enough but to find out you waisted your time growing the wrong fig is even worse.
We should only buy from people we trust and even honest people sometimes make mistakes but we are humans and that’s acceptableWallingford,Ct. zone 6b

Here’s some pics of my Violeta figs and it’s typical leaf patterns. Violeta is allegedly the original name and strain of Black Madeira, acquiring new names as it traveled with Portuguese immigrants. It hasn’t been 100% proven scientifically, so you should take that into consideration when reading my post. But they’re very close figs, most likely the same so I thought it might help to share with youYou may only view thumbnails in this gallery. This gallery has 5 photos.5 Photos
