  • My First Espalier!

    Hello everyone,

Just wanted to show off two of my peach trees. As of Yesterday (8/11) they reached the top wire 5.5-6 ft up. I'm amazed by the growth thus far & I definitely recommend that every grower try an espalier at least once! Very rewarding, appealing and easier than you think!

That looks awesome, man. Congrats, and best of luck. I think I'll give it a shot next year.

I might try an apple or pear at some point in the future. I'm going to toss around a few ideas this winter and decide in the Spring. It looks like we might be buying a 4 acre homestead in the next couple of weeks, so we'll have plenty of space to experiment. One thing I definitely want to try for fun is cherry tomatoes. I usually tie them up on poles, and every year they collapse.

They are Redhaven & Elberta! Both good disease resistant varieties!

Here's pictures at planting and shortly after. Amazing how much they've grown.
