      Bellefleurs, I have a Celeste and it doesn't look the same: shape, color, size are different.

      Maybe these figs will give more insight when ripe.

    It’s frustrating when trees are mislabeled.
    My leaves and unripe fruit on my large Celeste look similar to yours but the figs are darker.
    I am in a similar position right now-
    I purchased a tree that was labeled Native Black from a local nursery but the figs are yellow. I was told that it’s likely “Golden Celeste”....

      Golden Celeste? Is there such a thing?
      It's more if I share the cuttings, that I can't really tell what variety it is. The fig tasted good, that's what counts the most for me lol.

      But it would have been nice to know what I got.

      It’s a thing, although my figs are still green.
      They really don’t look like my regular Celeste figs.
      These are more rounded and grow in tight clusters near the branch tips. I’m waiting for them to ripen. Last year a few ripened and they are definitely a yellow fig.

      So my Celeste doesn't look like Celeste?
      But more like a Brown Turkey? And the Brown Turkey is still a mystery!

      Do I even have figs? 😂

    I don't know what it could be but BT fruit has a pink ostiole when young...at least Southern BT.

      I don't recall seeing a pink ostiole. But it looked more yellow then brown/purple like Brown Turkey.

      This looks like neither Celeste nor brown turkey.

      Bellefleurs , that's what I thought. It had a slight berry flavor. I'm going to let them ripen a bit longer this time and see how that affects the color and flavor.

    My handyman asked what I was growing in the backyard, I replied; mostly figs. I asked him if he ever had a fig." Only fig newton's he said.

    So I told him the next ripe fig was his, and it happens to be the (NOT Brown Turkey.

    This morning I went to check on the figs, and the horror...It was gone.. I know it was there around 7 am when I released the chickens from their coop.

    Soon enough I realized who the thief is.

    So, it's going to be chicken for dinner!

    It wasn't fully ripe yet, but the inside looked more pinkish then the previous one. And I smell melon.

      That was the ultimate test. She wouldn't even allow the other chickens to take a bite. And she aimed for the fruit pulp.

      Her owner, my youngest,made a plea deal for her: mom, she should be your favorite chicken instead of chicken dinner. She likes figs, just like you!

        My vegetarian friend used to keep chickens for eggs and her kids named them Juicy, Crispy, and Tasty, lol.

          Tbh, no one in our family can eat any of our chickens.. We had a rooster, and he
          made a lot of noise, so I gave him back to my friend. But she had to promise first not to turn him into chickensoup.


          It also reminds me of my husband's granddad, he named his pig and cow: Breakfast and Dinner.

        Two most common yellow Turkish figs are Sarilop and Sarizeybek.

          Although I got it from a nursery, I don't think it's a very exotic type. The guy doesn't know much about figs ( had to explain VdB to him).
          So I wish it was one of those two, but its probably a basic ( but tasty) fig.

          The inside resembles the Sarizeybek. But mine are not that big.

        The figs look so much different from the first one I picked a couple months ago.
        I wanted to wait as long as possible before picking..
        But the thunder has been rumbling all morning,, and we are expecting a storm..

        Flavor: sweet with a very faint berry flavor.
