Hi all, just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Ethan and I grow a variety of fruits on a small plot just south of Seattle, WA in a zone 8b.
I've been reading throughout the forum for quite some time but have never made a post and I really just want to say how much I appreciate all of you and enjoy reading all of the collaborative brain storming that goes on around here. Anyway, as far as the figs I grow out here in the PNW here is my ever growing collection even though I am completely out of room...
Atreano
Conadria
Marseilles Black VS
Desert King
Florea
Long D'Aout
Neverella
Niagara Black
Ronde de Bordeaux
Salem Dark
Smith
Takoma Violet
Improved Celeste
Italian 358
Ischia Black
Olympian
Jurupa
Grantham's Royal
Violette de Bordeaux
Zaffiro
Hative D'Argenteuil (forgot to add in OP)
I had my first fig a few years ago at a local nursery and thought it was the best thing I had ever eaten in my life and then was told right after "that wasnt even one of the better varieties"...I was then gifted a Desert King tree and ever since that day I have been in love with figs and on a constant journey to find and grow some of the quality varieties for my climate that are circulating around. Im about 4 years into growing fruits but only just got into figs over the last 2 years. I've got the fig bug and I've got it bad so besides this being a confession this is also my introduction!
some of the other fruits that I grow (Persimmon, Pineapple Guava, Apricot, Nectarine, Peach, Plum, Pear, Apple, Loquat, Mulberry, Sea Buckthorn, Pawpaw and Citrus)
