  • Moscatel Preto - Best unripe fig?

Moscatel Preto main crop picked August 4, 2021. This unripe fig was picked to keep the šŸæļø and šŸ•Šļø at bay. This was the best tasting unripe fig I have ever had! 🤪 It was sweet, firm, and had some seed crunch. It did sting my tounge a little bit due to how unripe it was and the latex irritation. That will be fixed with a few more days on the tree next time! šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ€

This was ripened in Northern Virginia, zone 7a/b, in a 5 gallon pot, and no headstart in a greenhouse.

Do you think unripe Moscatel Preto is the sweetest fig? What figs do you pick early and wow you?

Figs4All, Looks awesome! Is this the first ripe one? I’m in 6B so looking to see when I can expect it to be ripe next year. Thanks!
