  • De La Reina MP Main 2016

I am on record saying this is the tastiest 1st year fruit off a new cutting I can imagine. A real winner, the larger one weighed 70 grams, which is a typical weight according to Pons' book.

Excellent, Rafael. Amazing that New York beats 8b to the punch.

Lol Frank but as a new cutting this ripening time cannot be regarded as normal. We'll see next year when it ripens, that'll be the real true ripening time.

Looks great. So, is this a late ripening variety then?

Don, it ripens mid August in Mallorca, I would not call it a late ripener at all. I'm betting on the second week of September in the Northeast so just right, normal. Not early either.

        Very nice , Rafael!
It seems it wasn't dead ripe, do you have more to taste and show us ? No splitting is a big plus too.

Igor the second picture was indeed dead ripe, the larger one I picked a little too soon, still very delicious. I still have four more on the tree Igor so yes I will post more pics.
