  • UP is still up there!

Every year it holds its own spot at the top. This season the Unknown Pastilliere is no different. Seriously tasty and very productive. If you have the wasp, it is a must have. The taste resembles a bing cherry .

Those are gorgeous! I am so happy I got cuttings from you, Igor! Now they just need a few years to grow.

If you have room, plant in ground. All it needs is full sun and some regular watering

Beautiful!! Another one I can’t wait to try! I think I got my cutting from you too. Keeps on putting out figlets like crazy even though it’s still in a tree pot.

UP is always a star when I share my extra figs. Last weekend I had a fig tasting for a young couple who are getting into the hobby, they liked all the figs I grow but their eyes lit up when tasting UP.

ZomVee Yep. And there are canyons around me that certainly could have caprifigs, but I think they've all been removed. The tree behind a bank I took some profichi from last summer was pruned pretty heavily.

Figbert I took a little sucker twig from the Chase Capri last fall and grafted it to my in ground BT in a location that is out of reach. It took and now I see little figlets on it. Maybe someday soon, the wasp can move into my neighborhood.

PBfigs I do have a Girsh Park in a large pot as well as small rooted cuttings of a capri from Mission Valley and Stanford, so hopefully I'll be able to get a little colony going next year.

Totally agree - the second fig I put in the ground. It has earned that spot for sure! Thanks greenfig !

The cherry flavor is real and the lack of sweetness is too. First fig has me on the fence, it's so different than other figs.

Taste the figs from the direct sun vs the shade. The sweetness will be different

I thought you *were* a zone 6 WASP. Unless you're following in old-style Italian footsteps; half my father's family followed tradition, half broke away from it.

A few months ago, when I noticed that near my son’s house was a Capri fig tree, I decided to move my UP to his backyard since I knew the wasp does not visit me consistently. I am so glad I did! I got to taste my first UP today and it was all I was hoping it would be.
