Are they harmful to fig trees? Found slimy trail on the Jurupa this morning.

I know they'll eat ripe figs and tender growth of other plants. I'm not sure about fig leaves and unripe figs but it wouldn't surprise me. That slime would hinder the leaves from doing their job. Sluggo Plus works very well.
