Cutting energy

Today I was uppoting cuttings from my 32 oz yogurt containers and I discovered something unexpected. This MBVS cutting was placed to root in 02/2021, grew leaves and event a small fig, and had no roots whatsoever, not a tiny one !
So all this was achieved just on the stored in the cutting energy. My MBVS tree is in a very sunny spot and in a good soil and it should have stored a lot for its babies!

Yea I've had cuttings grow a figlet before too....though I took it off after a bit.
No roots either....Pretty amazing little sticks.

I've had some do the same, make a nice callus ring on the bottom but forget to put out roots
