  • LSU Purple 1st fig of 2021

Wow, this is year 3 and tasted like honey! I had 4 before this one but birds got them. Let it hang covered for 3-4 days. Drastically different taste and size then prior years.
also, should be noted that the tree grew back from the ground thx to the polar vortex dropping us to -1.

You may only view thumbnails in this gallery. This gallery has 2 photos.
Figs in ground: (2018) LSU Purple, VDB, Panache. (2020) Desert King, LSU Tiger, Little Ruby, Peter Honey, TXBA1, (2021) RDB, CDD Rojo, SMGG, JH Adriatic, Hercs Unk, Preto, Mary Lane, Nero600 Want list: RLBV, Texas Peach

Nice! Same here. I was about ready to replace it.

I’m glad to hear that these improve with age.
Mine came back from the freeze but remains fairly small. It is ripening fruit right now.

I litterally just ate the first fig off of a 1st year tree.

It is going into the ground next Spring. I look forward to trying it in a few years when it matures. It did not split one bit with many inches of rain over the last week. Was starting to shrivel but I think I should have waited another day or two.

Then again it has not seen much sun in the last week. lol
