A few people in the Seattle area got together on August 1st to taste test 16 of our earliest producing breba fig varieties. I brought a single white madeira and nero 600m that each had to be split 8 ways. It would have been nice to have a larger sample size but we took what we could get. There was no shortage of desert kings and we had a good amount of violette de bordeaux too. I posted a video showing some of the highlights and each person's favs and the overall winners from those we sampled.
This is my first time participating in a tasting like this and it was a lot of fun. I tasted my first melon fig and found I'm not a big fan of those types. I also made the decision to plant my Olympian fig in ground and I'll be making some adjustments to my fig potting mix to provide more aeration and better drainage.
