  • Exquisito fruit size

Forum search is a black hole, so can anyone quick share how big Exquisito figs are supposed to get? I have one that just swelled up to twice the size of the others and I'm wondering if it's ripening or if it got over-wasped. Hoping it isn't waspy and won't burst before I get to taste. Note: it really IS that much bigger, not just the wide angle and foreground placement of the pic 😳

They can get up to 100g but this is caused by overwatering and likely caprification. The sweet spot is in the 30-40g range.

It popped Too popular with the wasps for its own good. It's not even close to ripe, still hard as a rock. I patched it up with some micropore tape to see if it might ripen anyway.

You're reminding of MASH. We might need to start calling you Hawkeye.

My Big Fig continued to grow and explode so aggressively it pushed the tape off, and I spotted a fig beetle checking it out so I picked it. It was not ripe, but it wasn't quite totally raw either. I cut off the exploded part and the rest tasted a little bit grassy and a little bit sweet. The texture was very soft and velvety with crunchy seeds. I'm surprised it was edible at all. Can't wait to taste the real deal when the rest ripen.

claret It got huge! I picked it because I was afraid it would attract bugs, but I wonder how big it could have grown if I left it 😳

I tasted a little bit and gave the rest to my worms. Wouldn't be surprised if some seedlings try to grow in the bin!

That's more like it! Looks perfect, just how I want mine to be. It's hard to be patient. Except for the exploded one, all mine are still green.

This is my 1st year tree, so I am not expecting much but I can’t wait though. The birds and rats are after it. I had to place baits around it for the rats. I hoped that the bag will hide the fruits
