I got home late from work today and didn't have much daylight left to spend looking for ripe figs. Fortunately, I was able to take a look at this variety that I am trying for the first time this year before the daylight ran out. It is a large fig, so I wasn't expecting much, but it was actually pretty good considering the poor weather conditions. In a drier climate, I think this variety might show real promise.

Was the eye pretty open or is that from cutting it open?

The eye split open on its own, but it had rained quite a bit the day before
