  • Mattepinta from Wills

Been waiting for this one for awhile. First fig has nice jammification and syrup. I got a real simple sweetness out of this one.

Nice! Mine from Wills has been growing well, but didn’t put out figs this year. Doesn’t quite look like BrianM’s pics of it just yet. Be interesting to see how it develops!

I know, it doesn't look like Brian's one. Pretty disappointed at that...cuz I wanted the real one.

ZomVee I hear you on that. Hopefully it’s just first fig issues and next year is more true to type.

ZomVee No, It was one of a few varieties that got close to ripening but didn’t quite make it there before the season ended

There was a thread about it. He tried to temporarily suspend sales while he was on vacation, but someone got a sale through, got mad and some other people chimed in and Wills just stopped the sales.

I dunno if this is the real deal Mattepinta, but she's a beast. I wanted to graft onto it this year. I wonder if I still can?

Kid Fig the ones I had the first year were simple syrup tasting. So sugar fig. I haven't had it in a while. Last year it dropped everything. It was super dry. I'm hoping it changes into something more interesting. Otherwise, it will become a monster frankenfig.

Hopefully it develops into fruity - the interior color is throwing me off with it being reddish.

Kid Fig Yeah, you would think a little berry, but it was just sugar. I'll see what happens since it has matured.
