  • Yummy Figgy Sandwichy Thing 😝

Ok. Someone needs to come up with a proper name. All I know is that this thing was off the charts amazing!!

A friend told us about this fig crostata thing they had a few years back and we decided to try and make one for ourselves so my wife got creative!! She KNOCKED it out of the park. Simply divine.

Homemade sourdough bread with butter, lightly grilled
Top with goat cheese, fig preserves, balsamic caramelized onions, fresh figs and fresh spearmint leaves and you will not want to eat anything different ever again!

                  Toasted walnuts or pecans…or hazelnuts.
This sounds a lot like the foundation for a pizza that I love to make. It has a sourdough pizza dough starter. I top it off with olive oil, fig jam, caramelized onions, figs, prosciutto and Gorgonzola along with (once removed from the oven) fresh arugula, Gorgonzola (or shaved Parmesan ) balsamic reduction drizzle (or even honey), toasted nuts and cracked black pepper.
