Beautiful! One of the varieties I have had the worst luck with for years. Had a cutting that just decided to die. Had a graft that put out one amazing fig, then died. Now have a cutting from that graft that rooted but has put on maybe two inches of growth since winter... Probably time to give up or get another tree to try!

                          Oh boy that looks good!

I started 4 cuttings of CdDB this past Spring from 3 different individuals on figbid. All 4 are still kicking and have at minimum 1 fig on them. I just gave them another fertilizer bump and some deep grass clippings.

Next Spring some will be up-potted and at least two will be going into the ground.

The two up-potted trees will be going into 15gal containers up on the deck at the house. Easy access for guests to enjoy.

I cannot wait until my figs start looking like yours in a few years!

                          Thank you for sharing....

Evdurtschi your caprified super model figs are creating an unrealistic standard of beauty that average everyday figs simply can't live up to. This is a big blow to the self esteem of young figs everywhere

                            A very beautiful variety!
Are you taking photographs of the varieties you will be removing from the collection?
Having a photo of this quality for several hundred (!) Varieties is also a kind of collection. And then publish them all at once or in parts. For example, here or in a photo album on another site, or a "pocket" encyclopedia of California figs?

I keep them for my records and for reference material for anyone else. I do think a book would be nice. There are so many beautiful figs!!

Evdurtschi For many people outside Ourfigs, it would probably be an amazing discovery that figs can be so beautiful. I no call to memory think of any other, more beautiful fruit than capricious figs.
