  • Red Lebanese Bekaa Valley 2021

Picked our first two of the season today, about a nice, dry, hot 4 day hang after coloring up. 16 grams of sweet jammy goodness. These ripened 74 days after fruit set, although the tree was a little late setting fruit this year. This variety seems to dry incredibly well on the tree.

Nice figs! Great job ripening them, and thanks for the data point.

FWIW, last year my RLBV ripened 1st fruit 77 days after fruit set, so you're right in the same ball park. Probably it's a little more consistently warm there once the growing season starts. Anyway, I think this helps demonstrate the value of such data.

WOW, looks perfectly ripe Joe!! Mine has figs that are still green here on Long ISland,NY 7B I think they made figlets in early June so I should be very close on ripening time. And this time the tree will have its leaves intact!!

You are in for a real treat, especially if rain holds off.

Joe; Great looking RLBV figs! Current day pictures of the P.L. RLBV cuttings you provided to me last December! (Should be about 6-8 ripe figs if the squirrels leave them alone!) Hope they look as good as yours! Thank you!
