  • First Fig

I ripened my first fig. This is a very small RdB from a cutting I started in December (yes, 9g . It was tasty with the skin having a sweeter aftertaste. It has a traditional figgy flavor, but was better than the Brown Turkey figs I've been having from my neighbor's in ground three year old tree. This is obviously the first year, so my hopes are not too high, but I have about 8 varieties with figs from my cuttings this year. So I'm happy to be starting.
