Kinda hard to ID at this stage. Maybe after it puts out more leaves and figs.

Any clue under what name it was told to you?

Can you please provide a few more details?
Has it fruited and if so, can you describe the fruit?
Did you purchase the tree from a local nursery?

I doubt anyone is capable of such a feat. This fig has no fruit and no normally shaped leaves. You can at least bury part of the pot in the ground to keep the roots cooler. At 35 degrees Celsius the growth of the roots completely stops, and after another 4-5 degrees they begin to die.

This is someone selling the tree, I haven’t seen it in person. I just searched up leaf patterns and I’m assuming it’s Celeste. Most garden centers in Houston sell “Brown Turkey” & “Celeste”. Just a guess. I wouldn’t mind a surprise fig in the future. They are selling it for $10 so maybe I should gamble and hope it’s a good tasting fig.

            Cannot go wrong with Celeste.

At that size and price if it's a Celeste you are one lucky guy!

It could be anything but for $10.00 you can use it for rootstock if the figs are not your favorite.

$10 is a steal for a tree that size! I assumed u can tell from the leaves but I guess I’ll have to wait for fruit 😎. Thanks y’all, I’ll try to post an update when it has fruit just to see if I guessed right lol
