My second year with this big golden fig and I'm loving it so much. First ripe fig of the year was full of beautiful rich syrup with a gentle clover honey taste. This was the richest tasting honey fig I have tried. Not the biggest I've had from this tree, but the flavor was really excellent. Very soft skin, velvety texture inside and out. The eye stayed pretty well shut and I managed to let it hang for 48 hours after it started calling to me. Once it swelled and started glowing I got nervous the critters would notice it so I disguised it by wrapping loosely in tulle. Reaped my reward this morning!

Just realizing my camera app made all different white balance decisions and I should have color corrected, but I'm having a lazy day. Suffice to say color was a bright glowing yellow, not brassy at all, with golden undertones.Zone 10b, Long Beach CA

Thanks for sharing.
Have had both, with the neck and without. This fig will shine its best after its 3rd year, like many other fig varieties, Especially if you cut down the watering about 2 weeks prior to ripening.
The taste profile becomes richer with a nice hint of melon.Val. Carlsbad, CA - Zone 10a
