  • Id request - potential Celeste

Got a cutting from a local who had a backyard fig tree. All I heard was that the figs were really sweet and they make jam every year. It was on ground and never protected.

Since most ppl around here have a Celeste, I had labeled it a Celeste but I am not sure.

I have seen many variants of Celeste but one of the stand out features of Celeste is that it's very finicky with watering and drops figs in it's early years.

This tree didn't drop a single fig so far and I feel it's too dark inside for a Celeste.

Taste - very sweet with fruity flavor. More like a mixed fruit jam.

Don’t think it’s Celeste, at least not “heritage” (regular ol’) Celeste

Too dark of a fig for Celeste and leaves are not typical
