Haha... that's funny. My dog loves figs too. he prefers the dark colored figs. He is slacking on his job because my trees are being attacked by coons or possums at night now. I think I have picked 2 figs compared to about 10 they have stole. even with organza bags on the figs they will just chew them up a bit and leave the bag. very frustrating but the war is on now. time to break out the ol' 20 gauge.

Yes, dogs can get a taste for figs.

I picked a perfectly ripe one and as I held it in my hand, marveling at it's beauty, my dog bit it by the stem and took off, running away with it. By the time I caught up to him, all that was left was the stem..

Sid like this? I have posted this pic before as I struggled with glare on the screen to find my hand I extended to far and temptation took over. Only later when reviewing the pics I took did I see this. I still laugh when I see it. He really doesn't eat many

He will go after anything, but just doesn't seem to patrol for them. He will go crazy when I grab the pellet gun and hates squirrels and wants to please, but needs to learn to look where I point. 4 deer the other day 50 foot away and he never saw them. When I say get them he looks right at my feet. I probably need handler triaining

Yep that's the same thing I did! It was my 1st ever LSU Golden Celeste. I think the next one ripened 2 weeks later... When I picked it he was no where near me, but when I lowered my hand, he must of ran up thinking I was going to give it to him.

Lesson learned I put them into a bowl now so he can't get them.

mine will pull off figs, blackberries and grapes off if I don't get to them. She is pretty good at catching chipmunks, just not good enough. I still have too many

Chipmunks are a scourge this year in my neighborhood of New York. Don't know what happened to cause it but wow...

Cute photos! I love the looks on those little expectant faces!
I've got a little beagle that loves fruit, including tomatoes, so I have to really keep an eye on her.

good job doggie get them figs save your master from overeating. My yorkie couldn't see the deer behind the fence but sure could spot the potatoe chip under the chair.
