Well Rooted cuttings with small buds and leafs. Put in cups with 40/40 perlite vermiculite and and 20% roots organics potting mix. Cuttings in cup with dome top cup and small hole to get tree used to ambient air. Cups in storage bin with no lid. Only cup lids and heat mat 1/2 inches under the bin and cups and two extra filtered frosted 120w plant grow bulbs and a sheet of wax paper really filtering the lights. My question is I don't see a lot of people talking lighting. Is it not necessary or beneficial for the new growth or just bottom heat for the roots and leaf will grow lights or not??I feel like Maybe between the heat pad and lights may be too hot although the thermostat says 75-80. Just trying not to lose anymore.

I keep the grow lights on over my cuttings even though it's not strictly necessary for just rooting. I figure that I might as well have some light available when the leaves appear to give the cutting a little energy boost. I have my cuttings in bins, so I also start some seedlings of flowers and veggies on top of my bins to take advantage of the warmth and light. By the time I get roots and leaves, I should have already germinated my seeds and can move the seedling tray somewhere else and let more light to the cuttings.Johnny

So photosynthesis Is important when you have large roots on the cutting along with leaves or Buds.. Once roots are growing do it still need under warmth from heat mat? Or just remove from heat all together and let the light give it what it needs? I love fig fruit. Just not sautéed on the treeZone 5 Chicago IL Wish list:
