I'd rate Negretta as a top notch fig. It's not large but an extremely flavorful one. When chewing the skin it gives a unique flavor that's hard to explain but is excellent. I'd give it an easy 9 out of 10.

Tony, my first to ripen was 7/22/16 and it just finished.
RdB was first of season in 7/5/16. I described Negretta as kiwi blueberry of all things. Looking at it, reminds me of a muscadine.newnandawg 7b Newnan, GA

My first breba was on 7-11-16 and first main crop on 8-25-16.
Mike your description of its taste is pretty good, it's not a typical Hardy Chicago or Malta Black flavor. To me some figs don't really have a flavor to the skin but Negretta is the exception. I'm not a gum chewer but if they could put that flavor in it I would become one.

I wanted to post pics of my Jason's Unk Black Ischia for comparison. Really looks about the same. This was a 10/10 today, I think it was perfectly ripe, the earlier ones this season were 8.5-9. Other posts on Negretta for comparison: https://www.ourfigs.com/forum/figs-h...etta-2015-main
and here: https://www.ourfigs.com/forum/figs-home/87376-negretta to show leaves, fruit, and opinions. My first main crop was 8/23.
