  • Ischia Black UCD

A nice rich tasting fig. My plant is about six years old and in a 40 gal container. A slow grower for me.

How do you compare the flavor to other figs? Pick any comparisons you like but do at least ten

How does the flavor compare to VdB?
Could you please post a few leaf photos? Thanks.

Ischia Black UCD vs. Ischia Black AD.. There have been questions about each. UCD is the lone fig on top. It wasn't ripe as I'd normally pick, but wanted to show the comparison. They are both great figs, but different.

I think perhaps that I have discovered the secret to growing good figs in zone 6A.... The secret is being able to hire good strong folks with stout backs to dance the fig shuffle with 100+ 40 Gallon containers and having sufficient space to over winter them.. It's almost obvious to me now that I realize that my largest container is a single 30 gallon one... :-)

Pete, Here are a few leaf pictures. Lots of single lobed leaves.
