  • Fig Dessert Recipes

My first choice is always to eat them fresh, but if you have a bunch of extra figs, this simple cream tart is a nice option. I made mine in one large rectangular tart pan and 3 small 3" mini-cake pans. Once baked, I sliced fresh figs on top to mix with raspberries--reeeeeeally good. If you want to skip a step, use a regular frozen pie crust or press rounds of pie crust dough into a muffin tin for smaller tarts. http://www.joyofbaking.com/Raspberry...heeseTart.html

It's SUPER good--kind of a cross between a very light cheesecake and a custard tart. I think I'm going to make more this weekend with those little pre-made graham cracker crusts.

SarinaP That looks delicious! I love custard based desserts with fresh fruit.... Now I am wondering how a figgy Creme Brulee would taste....

Yummm---another great idea! Was that just yellow cake, or perhaps a bit of rum in it?

Here's another fig recipe that I'd recommend. http://www.valleyfig.com/content/fabulous-fig-bars
This one uses dried figs. My wife makes it without walnuts because my son is allergic.

My all time favorite though is Black Madeira Fig Jam on a fresh brownie...
