Anyone having any luck ripening El Molino without the wasp?

I know posturedoc posted a pic last year.

Mine seem to be dropping fruit on two young trees. One in a 5 gallon sip and one in a 4 gallon pot. I'm still hoping it is just because they are young and to see a few of them ripen.

Give it a shot of phosphorus before the others drop. It may help.

I have been trying to keep a fairly regular fertilizer schedule but I just may give it a try tonight on both. Thanks for the recommendation.

Looks like all of mine fell off when it was time to ripen. They are young and I'll give them another year but it isn't looking good.

Just checking one last time to see if anyone else had fruit form on El Molino that either ripened or fell off.

Add me to the list of wanting to know. These seem to grow fast for me, all my cuttings grew a ton this year and I expect fruit next year but dont know if they are going to stick around now. Yikes!

          Hi,

Did anyone have any success to ripen El Molino outside of the wasp zone?

I was given an El Molino at last year's GA Fig A Rama. My tree had fruit this year which had dark skin. The birds beat me to the first fruits from this tree so I cannot tell you anything more than that.

Unfortunately, there aren't any more fruits on it. I'll give an update on it next year. Darn birds. lol
