Outside in summer weather and in winter I bring indoors and keep it under grow lights ! I don't known why tis fig intrigue me but I think is very pretty ... Maybe I try. Nothing to lose correct

Oh so you're saying it'll do fine in zone 5 during summer but winter must come inside to go dormant correct?

i got one last year. have to keep inside during winter. it is out now, and starting to grow nicely. Cajunb has one as well. he kept his in a greenhouse all winter. it grew alot more than mine, and made fruit. i do not know if it ripened on not.

Ah Grazie tis make sense... I know I hear difference in fig taste because of wasp. We do not have in Chicago so I maybe pass on clown but is beautiful plant. Even if I grow inside still no wasp to pollen it. Sad

Decorative, very. Clown Fig needs to be an indoor plant during winter, not nearly as hardy as any Ficus Carica. And I doubt the fruit would be edible without the pollination it would get only in the tropics.

There's a thread on the other forum about it. Seems like it needs pretty warm temps to keep it growing.

Ficus Aspera Parcelli Clown Fig
Has anyone eaten, grown, heard or seen tis fig before? Looks beautiful but if it's just for the looks id rather save my space and money for something greater.Tags: None
