  • Which of these figs has a fruity/grape/strawberry/light berry taste?

I originally thought many of these were honey figs.. maybe they are, but I think most of these have a light berry taste. In your experience, which has a fruity/grape/strawberry/light berry taste?
    Atreano
    Brooklyn White
    Conadria
    Desert King
    Flanders
    Galbun
    Goccia d'Oro
    Grasa's Adriatic
    Lyndhurst White
    Salem White
    Sicilian White
    White Genoa
    White Ischia
    White Triana
    Yellow Neches

I don't recall tasting any berry/grape flavors in Atreano, Brooklyn White, or Flanders yet. I think my Brooklyn white is the Bass version (honeydew melon flavor). The nature_park version is supposed to have a light strawberry flavor.

IMO, Conadria, Desert King and Grasas Adriatic would be the only "berry" flavored figs on your list.

And my Brooklyn White has a similar flavor to Don's, a light Honeydew Melon flavor and aroma!

I tasted Conadria, Pete and it didn't have a berry flavor to me, but I have it feeling most of these would if ripened optimally. I'm not sure..

Here's my list that I'm now unsure of:

        Atreano
        Brooklyn White
        Conadria
        Flanders
        Galbun
        Goccia d'Oro
        Lyndhurst White
        Salem White
        Sicilian White
        White Genoa
        White Ischia
        White Triana
        Yellow Neches
        Panevino White

Flanders is amber interior. No berry flavor at all. Definitely honey/sugar flavors.

Conadria is not sure what it wants be.

I have had blood red, rich berry flavored ones.

Light strawberry mild berry/honeydew/catalope flavored ones.

And amber interior sweet melon flavored ones. I have five in ground Conadria trees. It's a confused fig for sure.

My Atreano and Atreano Gold (same fig I think) have never had a berry taste-honey sweetness only. My second year Conadria had been a flop, figs ripening unevenly all season but the last two (go figure, after weather gets a little cooler) have ripened better and had a redder interior and a mild fruity taste, not just the honey type sweetness of Atreano.

My 2nd year Conadria has ripened all of its figs to a mild (but still pleasantly refreshing) sweet taste. Oddly enough, I also noticed that the last fig on the tree which ripened under cool and cloudy conditions was significantly redder and tastier than the ones that ripened in the summer heat. My theory is that this happened because all the foliage pumped sugar into that single leftover fig as opposed to distributing between many figs.
          Working...
