I have followed Malaysan fig growers for about a year. They are in to growing figs in a big way. I recently tried their method for airlayering. A plastic bag filled with growing medium that is tied off and slit to for an opening that is pressed against the limb. The limb is worked into the soil a bit then the bag is secured and covered with foil. It is very easy to do.

Note: I score my limbs 1/4 x 1 inch with the scored area pressed against the soil of the layer.

I will check in 4 weeks to see if I have positive results.

They also use the bag method for rooting cuttings, the method one of our forum members invented.
