  • Cut Guard Biological plant wound dressing

I'm curious if anyone else uses this Cut Guard Biological plant wound dressing ? I just purchased a big bottle from A.M. Leonard I made quite a few drastic cuts on quite a few of my trees to get them to the shape I want them and don't want to leave the cut trunks exposed sometimes they heal and sometimes they just keep dying back so while searching for an alternative to the petroleum based tar products I ran across this and reading the info on it it seemed like a good product and on one of the websites that had it for sale there were well over a thousand positive feedbacks

One other thing that I was thinking would this have any use with cuttings sealing the top and bottom ? Maybe painting the bottom of the cutting for rooting to help with rot? Let's hear your opinions

It sounds like it can't hurt. I just finished applying wax to the cut ends of my cuttings before storage.

In my limited experience, the bottom area especially if cut just below a node is where most roots form. Sounds like an interesting experiment, coat the bottom to see if rot is inhibited but roots can punch thru.

I just watched a video on YouTube where a guy sealed both ends of some cuttings with wax and left them in fridge for a year. He said they were still good. Ive never heard of the stuff you got but seems like it would work in much the same way.
