Zuny thanks. That is a really, really good fig, even from my young tree. About half the size they get on the mother tree, like tennis balls almost.

I wanted to eat it so bad but it was sprayed with miticide and I didn't have time to go wash off. It was the last one of the season. I didn't think I'd be that ripe in the cold it was in. Tis year I'm waking them all up early so I'll be above to try many many figs tis season!

I'm pretty inexperienced when it comes to tasting figs. But these seem to take a lot of heat to develop the best flavor. They are a sugar fig, with a rich light brown sugar or caramel flavor when fully ripe. Without the high temps (earlier in the year) their taste was sweet, but not that rich. This might be because the tree is growing in a fairly shady spot. It ripens right after Celeste.
