eBay is full of scammers. There's someone selling "rare fig tree seeds" for Desert King, Petite Negra, Panache and others. They claim the trees only grow 2-3 feet tall. The people buying from them probably have no clue the trees won't even grow true from seed.

Perhaps one of us should post an ebay auction selling seeds which are guaranteed to sprout not so rare and exotic ebay scammers which are aided and abetted in their criminal activity by ebay themselves... THAT would definitely get their attention and I am sure that eBay would want a cut of that action.... Might result in a lawsuit as well but.... :-)Tony - Zone 6A

At $.99, It's a very affordable entry level variety and the returns on such a listing are better than owning a blue chip stock. What I cannot figure out is the free shipping to worldwide. The other day I bought a book from Amazon for $ 0.01 but paid $3.99 for shipping lol

International airmail rates out of the US to points abroad are very inexpensive and likely at worst would be 100% of purchase price for a single seed package so the scammer is really expecting to make out based on selling more than one seed package... You are right, it really has a much higher rate of return for the scammer than owning a Blue Chip stock. The buyer of these seeds has little in the way of recourse in any event and in most cases (I am sure the scammers are banking on this) because of the small investment, would even bother to make a claim. That puts the scammer in the catbird seat since all those 'small' purchases add up to money in their bank accounts... One would hope that there is such as thing as karma and that it comes back to bite them in the arse...
