I don't recall seeing this article shared before, so here it is. Apologies if it has been posted before! Shout out to drivewayfarmer for supplying the plants in this project. Seems like they have a nice setup, though it does illustrate the limits of winter protection. The season extension provided by the hoophouse helps ensure more of the crop ripens.

I know a guy in St Louis doing this. He got his last figs on Dec 21.

Mark supplies a lot of poor people with free food (quite literally tons) and endlessly helps new farmers/growers with free seed, supplies, machines and advice. To me that makes him, "good people" When he comes to KC I'm one of the people who help him with logistics. I've introduced a few odd things to him that he's liked. I gave him a number of different cuttings, of course.

Thanks for posting this. I'm very interested in cold hardy varieties and am especially interested in any info on Ronde de Bordeaux.

Thanks for sharing this. Compared to ornamentals and more commonly grown food crops, there seems to be an incredible shortage of scientific cultural information on figs. Would be nice to see more studies like these.
