I was born in Dominican Republic and as a child I heard this song a lot. I reminds me of my country and how much I loved walking in the woods scavenging for fruit and things. One time I wanted a start fruit so bad that when I was picking it, I didn't notice a beehive until it was to late. Next thing I know I was running as fast as I could. My favorite was finding sugar cane and cacao trees. I really gathering fruit and being in the woods.

Sorry it's in spanish. It just saying how he misses his love and that he is gonna be patient and someday he will find her. For me it means how I miss picking my own fruit and some day I will live in a warm climate and have my own orchard. I just have to be patient.
