Those are so beautiful. Do you know the traditional name? A google image search returned Kilfi and Kolaches, although there seems to be a few different types of both of those pastries.

Sky is the limit when it comes to the filling

Looks great, Dave! I make these, too, around Christmas and Easter. It is tradition to make them with lekvar ( prune) and apricot, but I used fig as well for the last few years, and the fig kiffles are the first to go...while the lekvar ones just sit there all night. I use powdered sugar ( my grandma would kill me for that and also for using fig filling). Kiffles and nut roll, doesn't get any better than that! Are you Hungarian/Slovakian, Dave?

Dave. That looks delicious, I'll make them as soon as I'm off my diet. I saved the site.

Look great, Dave... My Mom makes these too and also varies the filling... Here is a link to Croatian Kifli...

Note that the traditional ones are usually crescent shaped and my Mom makes one with ground almond which is amazing...

Any way you make them or enjoy them they are delicious....

They look terrific. Maybe you could auction some off. What do you do with the figs for the filling?

Hey Bob we use fig jam one time we ground up dried figs and used that but if you make them don't use jelly it is too thin and will run out
      Working...
