I don't believe soil mites are dangerous to plants at all? But I can't tell from the picture what they are.

Yea, very hard to take a picture of them because they are so small. I will try in the morning with my camera.

Yea, sound very similar to what I have. When I water they get out of the soil and start walking around. I am trying to make sure they are not soil aphis. I will take try and take a better picture.

I tried to take a better picture and failed. They are so small the camera can't focus on them. They are not on the plants themselves just in the soil and on the pot. They are smaller then aphis

Does your camera have a macro setting? Auto focus is tough on small items.

My camera can take micro picture if I have the correct lens but I don't.

They are white. I changed the color on the picture to see if that would help.

These things are killing me. I put hydrogen peroxide in the pot and they are till alive. I really hope they are just soil mites.

Thank you Dave. I am going to try this. From what I read soil mites are a good thing but just in case they are not i will be covered.

          Zuny,

How wet is the soil? I honestly think they are harmless, maybe even beneficial.

I water once a week and some times once in 2 weeks. Maybe I should water less.

They could be beneficial in outdoor plants but I don't think you want them in your house http://pestkill.org/insect/mites/what-are-they/

That is kinda scary. There are to many mites.

They look like grain mites to me. If that's what they are they won't harm your cuttings but they will literally devour things like dry dog food, rice, cereal, pasta, corn meal....Grain mites tend to 'bloom' into a living carpet of them if the temperature and humidity go up. I've had to deal with them a couple of times and it wasn't fun. Do an image search on them and see if some of the pics match your critters.

They look just like that. I also saw that grain mites are also called mold mites. I been using neem cake for over a month and the neem cake can get moldy after you water the plants. I think that may be how they started because of the mold from the neem cake. Which makes sence since they only have come to be after I started using it. Thank you very much.

How did you get rid of them?
        Working...
