  • Do anyone Have Tis Fig?

Papa use to eat this with his brothers at home and say they were one of his favorite to eat. I look online for it but all I can find is website that sell photo of it.
Figs fioroni of the variety 'citrulara' (because they resemble the shape of the cucumber) fruit are typical of southern italy. oblong in shape, and color purple reach 100 gr. the weight of one. especially sweet, good to eat as a fruit or as an appetizer. I am willing to pay respectfully for Tis if you have Tis species.
You may only view thumbnails in this gallery. This gallery has 2 photos.

That looks like Citrulara a.k.a. Piombinese to me.
I will have one next time my friend from Florence comes over.

I Googled the name Piombinese and found this if it helps (http://www2.ars-alimentaria.it/Prodo...yForProvincia=) :

Ficus carica var. Piombinese (Sinonimi: San Piero, Arbicone, Filacciano Nero, Corbo, Zucchello, Zucchetto, Lancianese)
USDA z 10a, SoCal. WL: Boysenberry Blush

greenfig correct, but i can assure you Citrulara is just another synonym for Piombinese used in the south.
This is a big problem with italian figs, in almost every province they'll have a different name.

There is many dialect in Italia. North will say "Fica for fig" and south "Fica is bad word for non fertile baby egg" conversation Italia is difficult miles apart.

Season here lasts another 3 1/2 months. If it puts on some decent growth i will send you a cutting. It's still a small tree.
However i will be in Italy late august/first week of september in the big lakes area on lago d'Iseo. I'm also planning to visit a few nurseries while i'm there. If i find one i will let you know. If not, remember me by the end of the season and i will see if i can help you.
