Another question. My fig in ground at my home tis year is growing out of control. Has quadrupled in size since it wake up. Problem is I did not think it grow tis fast and I make wine grape trellis over top of fig (with room for it to double in size ) with grape in pot but growing very very fast up trellis. My problem is the grape vine is reaching out and had attached one of its vine finger to a branch of the fig tree. I unwrapped grape vine off fig but at the rate tis fig is growing it will grow well beyond the space it has under trellis. It would take much work and ruin the look I was going for if I had to remove trellis. What would you do so everything grows happily under trellis? I have couple air layer on the tree now but it's grown very fast. Should I take green cutting? Cut back grapes? Let it all intertwine ? I need bigger garden ahahaha

I would keep both especially the grape pruned away from each other.
If the grape gets a hold of the fig, in a couple years it could girdle and kill or severely damage the fig. Plus the grape leaves will shade the fig. ...Scott - Colorado Springs, CO - Zone 4/5 (Depending on the year) - Elevation 6266ft

Yes, just keep training the grape up the trellis and away from the fig. Use plant tie tape if needed or prune the lateral vine off of the the grape, it will have no trouble growing upward.Calvin, Wish list is to finish working on the new house, someday.

I wish tis was Bi39 my friend. Now original Bi39 is very small grown back. Tis tree is from my zio. Opposite side of mountain where Bi39 come from when papa bring back home. But is only known as "Blanco Fico"
No science name to it. Tis is first year it make threw winter without cut back. Still no Fig but grows very fast. Is only one I know of in Italia where my Zio take from and sends to me. Belle tree tho. Very fast grown. I not sure what she is.Zone 5 Chicago IL Wish list:
