We make pizza at our place using an outdoor wood-fired oven-it is simply the best- and the last few years I've had a small 'pizza garden' next to the oven where I grow some tomatoes, herbs; stuff we can add to the pies as we cook them or when they come out. I am excited to add a fig plant or two to this year's pizza garden and thinking of fresh figs on top of one of our crispy crusted pies, maybe with some stinky cheese and homemade pancetta.....

Oh, man does that whole set-up sound good. I'd love to have an outdoor pizza oven. But with our extreme fire hazard and frequent droughts (SoCal), I'd be too uncomfortable using it. We've already had to evacuate twice the past decade because of wildfires. (Had to walk back in to water the plants!)
Dang Gina, those are amazing...you said you have more?
I did a google image search of simply 'pretty figs' and those are but a few of what came up. Most were pictures of simple sliced figs, or cut in salads...
I just choose the ones that were visually very attractive to me.
On another note, if you want some good looking pics and recipes, get the book "fig heaven" by Marie Simmons. From the simplest form of enjoying
figs to some really good meals, deserts etc. I got mine from Amazon.
